The Peach County Trojans had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 52-45 win over Mary Persons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Peach County also won the last time the pair played back in January.
It was another big night for Alex Willock, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Cherry, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Mary Persons had strong showings from Isaiah Hendricks, who scored 15 points, and Tobias Hare, who scored 15 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Hendricks scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Odoms, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
The win got Peach County back to even at 12-12. As for Mary Persons, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 16 of their last 18 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.
Peach County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mary Persons also has no future games currently scheduled.
