McLaurin won the last time they faced Laurel and things went their way  on Monday too. The Tigers blew past the Golden Tornadoes 19-6. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five contests by 13  runs or more  so far this season.
 Kaydann Reed made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run but no hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news, McLaurin let  Brooklynn Stevens and  Cassie Chatham run wild. Stevens  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while  Chatham  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most  stolen bases  Stevens has posted since back in February of 2024.  Isabella Taylor was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
The  victory made it two in a row for McLaurin and  bumps their season record up to 5-9. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6  runs in those games. As for Laurel,  they are  on  a  ten-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-11.
 Looking ahead, McLaurin will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Magee  at 6:30  p.m. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.3  runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Laurel, they have already played their next matchup,  a  17-5  loss against Gautier on the 8th.
