Baseball Recap: Lena-Winslow Has No Trouble Against River Ridge/Scales Mound

Lena-Winslow had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt River Ridge/Scales Mound on Monday. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Wildcats. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Wild was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Luke Madigan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Lena-Winslow is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-6 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lena-Winslow will square off against Forreston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, they will face off against East Dubuque at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
