Despite the loss, Green Hope had strong showings from Abigail Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Uma Surkund, who scored 11 points. That was a full 35.1% of Green Hope's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Tomanska, who scored five points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Apex also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Middle Creek by a score of 51-43. Apex has struggled against Middle Creek recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Green Hope has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Apex, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
Green Hope strolled past Apex when the teams last played back in January by a score of 60-46. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Apex's Destiny Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds.
