Ironwood Ridge took a 29-point loss the last time they faced off against Mountain View, but they managed to turn things around on Thursday. Ironwood Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Mountain View and snuck past 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Ironwood Ridge has posted since December 7, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ironwood Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Myla Elslager, who scored 21 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Elslager has scored all season. Molly Walter was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Catalina Foothills entered their tilt with Tucson High Magnet School with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Catalina Foothills managed a 61-55 victory over Tucson High Magnet School on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ironwood Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Catalina Foothills, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
Ironwood Ridge came up short against Catalina Foothills when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 65-53. Thankfully for Ironwood Ridge, Reilly Clark (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
