While it was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, The Lee County Yellow Jackets were not quite the Southern Lee Cavaliers''s equal in the second half on Friday. Lee County fell just short of Southern Lee by a score of 17-14. Lee County's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Although Lee County took the loss, they still got scores from Raymond Knotts and Isaiah Peoples.
Southern Lee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robbie Sims, who rushed for 100 yards on only 12 carries.
Lee County's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.3 points per game. As for Southern Lee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Lee County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southern Lee will head out on the road to face off against Fike at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fike will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
