Pikeville is 8-2 against Shelby Valley since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Pikeville Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Shelby Valley Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Pikeville will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Pikeville earned a 54-43 victory over Prestonsburg.
Meanwhile, Shelby Valley came up short against Martin County last Friday and fell 59-52. Shelby Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pikeville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Shelby Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Pikeville took their win against Shelby Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 55-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pikeville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
