Northwest Whitfield won the last time they faced Southeast Whitfield County and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bruins came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

While Northwest Whitfield won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Makyna Greeson and Harper Booth, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Anzley Robinson and her 13 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jazmyn Doyle, racking up two apiece.

Despite the loss, Southeast Whitfield County had strong showings from Dareen Mughrabi, who had nine digs, and Jacqueline Lopez, who had four digs and two aces.

Northwest Whitfield's victory bumped their record up to 19-12. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

Northwest Whitfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Chattooga on the 20th. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they will square off against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
