AA District 5 recap October 22, 2013
Polk County added to the longest winning streak in AA District 5 this week by beating Sweetwater, 41-13. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Sequoyah took down Roane County 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brett King threw for 227 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
The Chiefs' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Drew Carson contributed 222 yards. Reuben Abernathy helped Sequoyah's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 30 yards.
Carson was a beast in the backfield as Sequoyah beat the Yellowjackets.
King put up the best numbers in passing as Bill Satterfield's team beat Roane County. King's favorite target this week was Garrett Dalton, who caught 6 passes for 138 yards.
Sequoyah's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Chiefs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. King has thrown for 1,662 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Dalton has 44 catches for 760 yards.
The Chiefs' Carson is a mere 81 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 117 carries Carson has put up 919 yards this year.
Sequoyah led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on Brian Pankey's team. King in the win.
