Basketball Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

North Raleigh Christian Academy won the last time they faced Crossroads Christian, and Brennen Jefferson did his part to make sure it happened again. The North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights walked away with a 51-42 victory over the Crossroads Christian Colts on Friday thanks in part to Jefferson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Thompson, who posted four points and seven boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played.

Despite the loss, Crossroads Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ely Phillips had ten points. Sean Smith was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

The win snapped North Raleigh Christian Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-10 record. As for Crossroads Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy will head out to face off against Ravenscroft at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Ravenscroft's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Crossroads Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge New Garden Friends at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Garden Friends is on a four-game streak of home wins, Crossroads Christian a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
