Football Recap: Bo Brandehoff's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Riverside over St. Ignatius + How To Watch

Riverside scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Ignatius Wildcats. While the Beavers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 6-0 in the first quarter.

Riverside lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bo Brandehoff, who threw for 220 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Spencer Short was Brandehoff's top target, picking up 74 receiving yards, while also rushing for 62 yards and one score.

This is the second loss in a row for Riverside and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for St. Ignatius, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will venture away from home to square off against Chardon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hilltoppers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Beavers surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Ignatius, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Edward at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
