West Morgan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Pennington Tigers by a score of 8-4.

Maddox Maples was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Colby Jones was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Levi Borden was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

West Morgan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pennington only posted an OBP of .333.

West Morgan's record now sits at 5-7. As for Pennington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, West Morgan will venture away from home to take on Dora at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pennington, they will head out to challenge Vinemont at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
