Wisconsin Lutheran and New Berlin Eisenhower are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Vikings will challenge the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wisconsin Lutheran can't be too worried about heading out to take on New Berlin Eisenhower: they just beat Pewaukee at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Vikings put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 13-1 victory on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Sidney Schroeder spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Zhana Guenther and Raygen Just did most of the damage at the plate: Guenther went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Just went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Just a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Schroeder, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Wisconsin Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, New Berlin Eisenhower's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let Pius XI Catholic get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory.
Pius XI Catholic's batters probably weren't too happy with Mya Ender, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up a single walk).
On the hitting side, New Berlin Eisenhower let Jayda Karls and Ella Beal run wild. Karls got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs, while Beal went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Karls has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Megan Liedtke, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
New Berlin Eisenhower is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Wisconsin Lutheran, their record is now 11-1.
Wisconsin Lutheran's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for New Berlin Eisenhower, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wisconsin Lutheran continue to outrun the ball?
Wisconsin Lutheran took their victory against New Berlin Eisenhower in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
