North Augusta gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Westwood Redhawks as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Yellow Jackets were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Redhawks, so the Yellow Jackets were just returning the favor.
North Augusta walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-6, 25-17.
Charlotte Massucco paced North Augusta's offense, picking up eight kills. Massucco got some help from Lia Allen and her 14 assists. Kayli Wood controlled things from the service line, finishing with 12 aces.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, North Augusta and Gilbert will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westwood, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Fort Mill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
