The Conestoga Christian Cougars waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 68-52 win over Harrisburg Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Conestoga Christian also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Paul Hurst, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 18 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Roth, who scored 12 points.
Several Harrisburg Christian players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Stargel, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shuan Bogovic, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Conestoga Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Harrisburg Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conestoga Christian will square off against the at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harrisburg Christian is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Flames at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Tycen VanDerPloog and Stargel.
