Stillwater and Cambridge/Salem are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Warriors will square off against Cambridge/Salem at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two weeks ago, Stillwater got the win against Warrensburg/Lake George/Bolton by a conclusive 47-21. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four games by 26 points or more so far this season.

Those 169 rushing yards gave Brown a new career-high. Caleb Vacula helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stillwater was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 369 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, Cambridge/Salem came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 27-26 W against the Eagles. Given Cambridge/Salem's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Bethlehem Central is ranked 312th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cambridge/Salem's win came from a few key players Stillwater will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kolin Rowland, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 32 yards. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Jackson Rowland, who gained 153 total yards.
Cambridge/Salem didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Preston Peabody picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Stillwater's record now sits at 5-3. As for Cambridge/Salem, their record is now 8-1.
Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Stillwater has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 215.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cambridge/Salem struggles in that department as they've been averaging 190.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Stillwater suffered a grim 33-7 defeat to Cambridge/Salem when the teams last played back in September. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors were down 20-0.
