Faith Academy is 9-1 against St. Paul's Episcopal since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rams will host the Saints at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Faith Academy sitting on ten straight victories and St. Paul's Episcopal on three.
Faith Academy proved they can win big on Friday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gulf Shores, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since March 6th.
Riley Wilemon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wilemon was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other pitching news, Noah Reid looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk any time he's pitched this season.
Faith Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gulf Shores struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, St. Paul's Episcopal made easy work of Citronelle on Friday and carried off an 11-1 victory.
John Stowers was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Johnston, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Faith Academy pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for St. Paul's Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Faith Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Paul's Episcopal in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saints turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
