Baseball Recap: Lisbon Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

While Lisbon put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Winthrop. The Greyhounds were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Ramblers. Considering the Greyhounds have won five games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cody Osmond made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Osmond wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cyrus Tefft, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Another was JT Hoyle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Lisbon pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Winthrop, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Coming up, Lisbon will head out on the road to challenge Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winthrop will be paying especially close attention to the Greyhounds' contest: after the Greyhounds face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Winthrop again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
