Como Park had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Roosevelt Teddies, falling 16-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Teddies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 two weeks ago.
Marcela Deloye-Romero made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lily Coyle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Roosevelt, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.
On Roosevelt's side, Olivia Wohnoutka spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and seven unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Roosevelt got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Erickson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Erickson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Erickson, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Como Park has already played their next contest, an 8-7 defeat against Highland Park on the 14th. As for Roosevelt, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-5 win against Blake on the 14th.
