Western Beaver and the Raiders are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Western Beaver Golden Beavers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cornell Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Western Beaver and four for the Raiders.
Last Friday, Western Beaver lost to the Scotties at home by a decisive 67-49 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Beaver in their matchups with the Scotties: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Western Beaver had strong showings from Jackson Liller, who scored 19 points, and Nathan Schwarz, who scored 19 points. That was a full 38.8% of Western Beaver's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-20, which was the final score in Cornell's tilt against the Scotties on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cornell has scored all season.
Western Beaver's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Cornell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Western Beaver couldn't quite finish off the Raiders when the teams last played back in January and fell 39-37. Will Western Beaver have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
