The Corinth Christian Academy Warriors won the last time they faced the Westwood Christian Warriors, and things went their way on Friday too. Corinth Christian Academy snuck past Westwood Christian with a 50-46 win.
Alden Hughes was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Fowler, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Westwood Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brett Bozeman, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Tripp Kirkland, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Corinth Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Westwood Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Corinth Christian Academy will be playing at home against Gainesville Christian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westwood Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Hart 2 Hart Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
