Fergus narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cowboys 46-44. Fergus didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Trajan Sparks was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 14 points along with two steals. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Jenness, who scored ten points.
Fergus' victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Custer County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fergus will take on the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Malta will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. As for Custer County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sidney is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
