The Dobson Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. ALA - Gilbert North took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dobson, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Dobson humbled Central with a 36-9 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Preston Brunsvold looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 42 yards. Those 42 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Joriyn Winston got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dobson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Dobson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Tremaine Turner, Jonathan Belsito, and Micah Newcombe picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, ALA - Gilbert North faced Desert Edge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Scorpions, falling 29-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since September 12, 2024.
Even if they lost, ALA - Gilbert North's defense still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Gaven McKinney with two. ALA - Gilbert North got some further help from Zyon Leuluai: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles.
The victory got Dobson back to even at 2-2. As for ALA - Gilbert North, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Dobson has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 164 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like ALA - Gilbert North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 175.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
