Caldera hasn't had much luck against Bend recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Caldera will venture away from home to take on Bend at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Caldera's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
If Caldera beats Bend with 15 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Caldera blew past Summit 15-0 on Wednesday. Caldera hasn't had any issues with Summit recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Morgan Voll was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Aliyah Gaffke was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Caldera always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Bend was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain View on Wednesday, taking the game 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lava Bears.
Janelle Guiney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cassidy Sandgren, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Aldrich, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Caldera's record is now 5-9. As for Bend, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-1.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Caldera hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like Bend struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Caldera couldn't quite get it done against Bend in their previous meeting last Tuesday as they fell 14-9. Can Caldera avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
