Basketball Recap: Manley Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Manley had won four straight road games dating back to last season and Jaklaya Hunter did her part to make it five on Wednesday. The Manley Wildcats blew past the Douglass Tigers 46-4 thanks in part to Hunter, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 steals. Her evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Ja Von Willis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Willis is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Manley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.6 points per game. As for Douglass, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Manley will welcome Clemente at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Manley's defense has only allowed 22.9 points per game this season, so Clemente's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Douglass, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Prosser at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
