There's no place like home for the Hoisington Cardinals, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past Smoky Valley with a 50-46 victory on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Hoisington, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Tony Moore, who scored 15 points along with two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Ingram, who scored six points along with three steals.
Smoky Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylor Campbell, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Ty Heitschmidt who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Campbell hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Hoisington now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Smoky Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Hoisington will take on Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hoisington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Smoky Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Larned at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Smoky Valley is facing Larned at the right time seeing as Larned is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
