Basketball Recap: River City Skates Past Woodland with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River City). They took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 75-23 win over the Woodland Wolves. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

River City had a senior duo take command as Nick Rodriguez posted 13 points and Cayden Gonsalves put up 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemarion Hayes, who earned eight points.

River City's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Woodland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

River City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Venture Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Venture Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Woodland and Fortune Early College will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
