Homedale has won four straight games at home, while Fruitland has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Trojans will welcome the Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Homedale barely beat Parma the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 20-2 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

William Dunne made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lukas Hall was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Chance Martell, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Homedale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parma only posted an OBP of .346.
Meanwhile, Fruitland earned a 12-9 win over Kimberly on Friday.
Fruitland also got a great performance from Austin Tesnohlidek as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Tesnohlidek has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Nate Grosvenor was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Titus Vidlak was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Homedale's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Fruitland, their win bumped their record up to 19-0.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Homedale has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .490. However, it's not like Fruitland struggles in that department as they've averaged .554. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Homedale was able to grind out a solid victory over Fruitland in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
