Princeton is 4-0 against Riverside since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Princeton Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Riverside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Princeton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 66-51 fall against Greenbrier East.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Abbey Honaker, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Stull, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Riverside's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 83-37 loss at the hands of Parkersburg. While losing is never fun, Riverside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Parkersburg is ranked fifth).
Riverside's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Laila Campbell, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds, and Ava Ward who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Campbell has scored all season.
Princeton's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Riverside, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.
Everything went Princeton's way against Riverside in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as Princeton made off with a 55-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Princeton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
