This season hasn't been kind to the Linden-Kildare Tigers, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a serious blow against Hawkins on Tuesday, falling 81-11. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Linden-Kildare in their matchups with Hawkins: they've now lost four in a row.
Hawkins' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Smith led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Hollman, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Linden-Kildare bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hawkins, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linden-Kildare will take on Ore City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hawkins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
