After a string of three wins, the Guyer Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rock Hill. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Guyer came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Rock Hill is ranked 188th).
Rock Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dextan Hutchinson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Russell Garcia, who scored ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Guyer's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Rock Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season.
Guyer will head out on the road to take on Braswell at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Rock Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prosper at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Prosper has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
