The Ridgecroft Rams put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kenston Forest 63-33 at home. With that victory, Ridgecroft brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Ridgecroft's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Slaughter, who scored 18 points along with 9 assists and 7 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Slaughter has scored at least 25% of Ridgecroft's points. Hannah Slaughter was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Ridgecroft pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Kenston Forest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgecroft will face off against Rocky Mount Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Rocky Mount Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Ridgecroft is ranked 20th). Kenston Forest will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
