Douglas had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 68-34 stomp they got against the Mountain View Mountain Lions. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 31 points or more this season.

Scarlette Ruiz continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 of 11 en route to 19 points and five steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Gonzalez, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Douglas' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.1 points per game. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Douglas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-48 win against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on the 27th. As for Mountain View, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rincon/University at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
