Corinth Holders has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Garner Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corinth Holders will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Garner is ranked 78th).
Corinth Holders started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Southeast Raleigh. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 24-21.
Although Corinth Holders took the loss, they still got scores from Jacob Cline and Anton Pearce.
Meanwhile, Garner had to suffer through a rough 48-7 loss at the hands of Cleveland. Garner has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Corinth Holders' defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.3 points per game. As for Garner, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Corinth Holders against Garner in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 35-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corinth Holders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
