When it comes to explaining why Anthony lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julie Cuellar. Despite the final result, she scored 29 points. That was a full 96.7% of Anthony's points, marking the 23rd time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
It was another big night for Alessandra Jimenez, who dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 15 rebounds, and ten steals for Fort Hancock. Jimenez has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jackeline Arriaga, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Anthony has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Fort Hancock, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.
