P.K. Yonge hasn't had much luck against Newberry recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Blue Wave will take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. P.K. Yonge will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
P.K. Yonge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Crescent City by a score of 5-1.

Colt Kramer was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases.
Kramer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nico Wheeler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Wheeler is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games he's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Newberry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let Gainesville get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Like P.K. Yonge, Newberry also got a great game from a two-way player: Desmond Taylor. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. Taylor was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tavis Honeycutt, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brycen Ochs, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Newberry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gainesville only posted an OBP of .263.
P.K. Yonge's record now sits at 17-8. As for Newberry, their record is now 17-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. P.K. Yonge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Newberry struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
P.K. Yonge suffered a grim 20-3 defeat to Newberry when the teams last played back in March. Can the Blue Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
