The Churchill County Greenwave's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 67-47 defeat at the hands of Terra Linda. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Churchill County came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 56th in Nevada, while Terra Linda is ranked 374th in California).
Churchill County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Glinka, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Sorensen, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Churchill County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Terra Linda, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Kennedy the next time they take the court. Churchill County will head out to face Kennedy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Terra Linda will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
