New Albany hadn't done well against Columbus East recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. The Bulldogs blew past the Olympians 7-1. Considering New Albany have won seven matches by more than two  goals this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
Their offense was hitting Columbus East from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.  Bailey Belden led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.
New Albany has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored 31  goals over those six  contests. As for Columbus East, their loss was  their fourth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 4-8.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Albany will venture away from home to  face off against Scottsburg  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Columbus East, they will head out to  challenge Jeffersonville  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
