After flying high against the Coral Park Rams last Monday, the Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs came back down to earth. Archbishop Carroll ended up on the wrong side of a tough 72-52 walloping at the hands of the Lions on Wednesday. Archbishop Carroll has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Mater Academy Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Davis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. Davis continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Tello, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Archbishop Carroll dropped their record down to 5-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mater Academy Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Archbishop Carroll will head out on the road to challenge the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mater Academy Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (American Heritage is ranked 301st, while the Lions are ranked 309th).
