Baseball Recap: Eldorado Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Cirillio Martinez was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Eldorado is undefeated when Martinez posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

Eldorado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Eldorado and bumps their season record up to 14-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Manzano, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eldorado is set to square off against their familiar foe Sandia at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Golden Eagles 4, the Matadors 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Manzano will take on rival Santa Fe at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
