In what's become a running theme this season, Holy Cross gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They really took it to John Paul II for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-40 victory at home. Given Holy Cross' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while John Paul II is ranked 1224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aaron Garcia continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Cirlos, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Brentwood Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-15 record this season. As for Holy Cross, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
