Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy earned a 6-3 win over Florida State University High School on Saturday.
Brennan Bachtell Jr looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Gage Petrutz and Brady Harris did most of the damage at the plate: Petrutz went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Harris got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Petrutz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Chris Reali was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
Trinity Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florida State University High School only posted an OBP of .200.
Trinity Catholic's record is now 22-5. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their record now sits at 21-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Trinity Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Trinity Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.7 strikeouts.
