Walker has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the St. Amant Gators at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walker knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 29 matchups -- so hopefully the Gators like a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Walker gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Live Oak at home to the tune of 77-14. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ray?Onna Sterling, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Sterling has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Kennedi Ard was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, St. Amant made easy work of the Griffins on Thursday and carried off a 63-39 victory.
Walker pushed their record up to 31-1 with that win, which was their 35th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.6 points. As for St. Amant, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
Walker strolled past the Gators when the teams last played back in January by a score of 56-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walker since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
