Hartington-Newcastle took care of business in their home opener. They blew past Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing 46-12.
Hartington-Newcastle's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 19 points in the first half. Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing came up with 6 to put the score at 19-6. The other side of the ball was dominant for Hartington-Newcastle in the second half, holding Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing to a measly 6 points.
Junior Shaye Morten, who passed for 150 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. In fact, with 15 tackles Korth was a force on both sides of the ball. Sophomore Kobe Heitman was in the mix, too, providing Hartington-Newcastle with with 2 touchdowns. This was the first game for both teams, giving Hartington-Newcastle a 1-0 record and starting Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing off at 0-1.
