The Eastland Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 62-42 margin over Breckenridge. Winning may never get old, but Eastland sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Despite the loss, Breckenridge still got an impressive performance from Zaea Ragle, who scored 17 points along with six blocks and five rebounds. The match was Ragle's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Castillo, who scored eight points.
Eastland's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Breckenridge, they bumped their record down to 5-19 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Eastland will take on Comanche at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Comanche presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastland in Texas (Comanche is ranked 69th, while Eastland is ranked 229th). As for Breckenridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Dublin at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
