Basketball Game Preview: Snook Christian Academy Eagles vs. Sparta Academy Warriors

The Snook Christian Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Sparta Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Snook Christian Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Escambia Academy just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Cougars 71-40. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Cougars are ranked 61st).

Despite the defeat, Snook Christian Academy got top-tier performance from Dawson Pierce, who went 7 for 13 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Pierce a new career-high in points. Josh Gabel was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Sparta Academy played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 50-27 to Escambia Academy. The Warriors were down 37-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Snook Christian Academy will need focus on slowing down Koltin Barlow, one of several Sparta Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Barlow is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Snook Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. As for Sparta Academy, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Snook Christian Academy lost to Sparta Academy on the road by a decisive 43-27 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Snook Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
