Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Cahokia Comanches, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They lost to Breese Central on the road by a decisive 19-2 margin on Saturday.
Zion Taylor threw for 39 yards while completing 78.6% of his passes. Peter Baxtron jr was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards. On the ground, Jramuel Holman rushed for 74 yards on only seven carries.
Breese Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Rakers, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Cahokia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Breese Central, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Cahokia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Breese Central will be playing at home against Mt. Zion at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Mt. Zion is ranked 101st, while Breese Central is ranked 77th).
