Navajo Prep extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 5 this week by beating New Mexico Military Institute, 63-45. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Navajo Prep took down the Colts 63-45 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tyler Sorensen threw for 436 yards and 7 touchdowns and ran for 10 yards during the win.
Navajo Prep's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sorensen has thrown for 3,798 yards and 51 touchdowns this season, while Mikaele Mauga has 72 catches for 1,555 yards.
Roderick Denetso's team's Isaiah Yazzie is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 85 receiving yards against Santa Rosa to hit that benchmark. He has recorded 46 catches for 915 yards this year.
The Eagles led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on New Mexico Military Institute. Sorensen ran for 10 yards in the win.
