After a string of four wins, the College Park Cavaliers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 70-61 to Grand Oaks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as College Park came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Grand Oaks is ranked 354th).
Despite the loss, College Park still got an impressive performance from Aiden Buckmon, who scored 28 points. The game was Buckmon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Martez James, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds.
College Park's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-4. As for Grand Oaks, they pushed their record up to 15-13 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
College Park will take on Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grand Oaks, they will head out on the road to face off against Caney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caney Creek is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
