Madison is 6-1 against Rosman since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Madison sitting on three straight wins and Rosman on five.
Madison took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Draughn, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since May 7, 2024.

Carrie Gunter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Ball, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Eleura Clark also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Madison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Rosman faced off against Mountain Heritage last Wednesday. The Tigers walked away with a 9-5 win over the Cougars.
Like Madison, Rosman also got a great game from a two-way player: Kiki Sexton. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Sexton was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jolie Reid was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Rosman pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Madison, their record is now 7-3.
Madison took their victory against Rosman in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 13-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
